About

Mind The Gap is an adventure in design of London Underground's tube system with particular inspiration drawn from architects Leslie Green, Charles Henry Holden & Harry Bell Measures.

Leslie Green designed station buildings and platforms for the the Baker Street and Waterloo Railway (now part of the Bakerloo Line), the Great Northern, Piccadilly and Brompton Railway (now part of the Piccadilly Line) and the Charing Cross, Euston & Hampstead Railway (now part of the Northern Line). He was an English architect best known for his design of iconic stations constructed on the London Underground railway system during the first decade of the 20th century, with distinctive oxblood red faïence blocks including pillars and semi-circular first-floor windows, and patterned tiled interiors.

Charles Henry Holden designed station buildings and platforms for the City & South London Railway (now part of the Northern Line) and the tile designs were introduced when reconstruction works extended the line to Morden, opened between 1924 and 1926. He was a Bolton-born English architect best known for designing many London Underground stations during the 1920s and 1930s and the Underground Electric Railways Company of London's headquarters at 55 Broadway.

Harry Bell Measures designed station buildings and platforms for the Central London Railway (now part of the Central Line). He was a English architect, he also designed the Central London Railway's Wood Lane Power Station (now known as the Dimco Buildings), which is Grade II listed.
